Cambozola Triple Cream

Cambozola is the German cousin to the super-creamy brie...but with a blue twist. This mild and subtle blue-veined creation is perfect for those looking for a blue cheese that is neither incredibly pungent (like a Stilton), and extremely crumbly (like a Roquefort). Perfect for spreading, this triple cream (meaning the cheese itself has been injected with a triple dose of cream for utter lusciousness) Cambozola lends itself as the ideal hors d'oeuvres cheese, or absolutely decadent when paired with a warm baked potato.
Ingredients: Pasteurized milk, cream, salt, microbial rennet, bacterial cultures, penicillium camemberti, penicillium roqueforti.
Storage: refrigerated
Availability: Usually ships within 1 business days. Product is perishable and must ship via Overnight service.

This pungent creamy cheese has now become my favorite; Danish blue had been my number one before I had this.

Product Questions And Answers

Q: Can this cheese be frozen? I have had this cheese for about 6 weeks unopened in the fridge.
A: You can freeze the Cambozola cheese, but please keep in mind that it is likely the freezing process will damage the texture. You would probably have to use it in cooking rather than eat it after it it thawed out.

Q: Once received on my end what is the shelf life of Cambozola Triple Cream if kept refrigerated?
A: The uncut wheel will have a shelf life of around 6 weeks, unopened. Once the cheese is cut though it should be used within 2-3 weeks at most.

Q: Is Cambozola Triple Cream also lactose-free, as are some of the other Champignon Kaseirei soft cheeses?
A: This product is not lactose-free, no we do not have any Champignon Kaseirei soft cheeses that are.

Q: does the champignon triple cream cambozola have mushrooms in it or is that just the name of the German company?
A: The Cambozola cheese does not have mushrooms added to it, Kaserei Champignon is the brand's name.

Q: Is the Champignon Cambozola Cheese imported from Germany @ the Costco locations - gluten free product....please advise
A: The Cambozola cheese is imported from Germany and produced by Kaserei Champignon. The cheese is made with microbial rennet and is free of gluten and rBGH.

Cambozola Triple Cream Recipes

Pears and Blue Cheese Tart Recipe
A great recipe for when pears are in season, we love how the intensity of the blue cheese is complemented and lightened by sweet and tart pears. Serve it as a light lunch paired with spring greens, or cut into small appetizer-sized pieces for a delicious hors d'ouevre that's easy to make.
