Crab and Gruyere Meltaway Appetizers Recipe

A sumptuous appetizer that couldn't be easier to make! Sweet crab meat is blended with mayo and seasoned to perfection, placed on freshly toasted brioche bread, then topped with gruyere and melted to au gratin goodness.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut the bread into ¼ inch thick slices, and lightly grill on both sides for 1-2 minutes. Chop into approximately 2-inch by 1-inch rectangles, making 12 pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the crab meat, mustard, mayo, salt, and cheese.
  4. Melt the butter and with a basting brush, brush the top side of each toast, then place about 1 tablespoon of the crab mixture on top of each toast.
  5. Place the crab meltaways on a non-stick cookie sheet, or a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Cook in the oven for approximately 10 minutes, until the cheese has fully melted.
  6. Serve warm, sprinkled with microgreens and halved baby heirloom tomatoes.
