Comte - 5 months

Comté is by far the most widely produced and consumed cheese in France. The combination of sweetness and saltiness gives this cheese an intriguing flavor which resembles that of Gruyere - in fact, it is also commonly referred to as Gruyere de Comte. Produced in the mountains of Jura, Comte has an interior consistency that is even, smooth and elastic, buttery and delicate. A very balanced flavor with salty notes and nutty tangs characterizes this cheese, and is typically eaten with fruit, in a sandwich or a salad. The best: on a traditional croque-monsieur.

Perfectly aged (in my opinion), mild, a tad nutty. Pairs perfectly with rose or reds!

not as nutty as I use to get it ! my bad when I ordered I didn't realize that the cheeze was only 5 months aged.... that is the reason why it hasn't that nuttty flavor; otherwise the texture is good !

While the food items I received were across the board very good - I’m writing to emphasize how exceptional GFS’s customer service was. I will continue to support a group like this. There is no down side, great products, reasonable price and exceptional customer service 5 starts for the experience on two orders. Thank you.
