Classic Lemon Bars RecipeIngredients for crust½ cup cold butter, diced1 ¾ cups plain flour¾ cups powdered sugar3 tbsp. waterIngredients for filling4 medium lemons, zested3 eggs + 1 egg yolk1 cup white sugar1.5 oz. flour¼ cup powdered sugar, for dustingDirectionsHeat oven to 375 °F.Line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, making sure to leave at last 1 or 2 inches overlap.In a food processor, pulse the butter, sugar, and flour until you get the consistency of fine crumbs. Add the water and work with your hands until incorporated. Press into the bottom of your pan, making sure to also cover the sides so the lemon filling doesn't slide under. Use the back of a spoon or rolling pin to press it down.Bake at 375F for about 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned.Set aside to cool.
