Mushroom Sauce

Christian Potier’s stellar mushroom sauce is perfect to smother over chicken breast, meats and risottos. The flavors are deep and rich, the texture creamy and velvety, elevating almost every dish you add them to.


Christian Potier is a celebrated French chef that was trained by the head chef of the last Russian Czar – Czar Nicolas II. With this pedigree he continued his training, which culminated when the participated in the making of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation cake in 1953. It was in the 80s that Chef Potier had the idea to create a line of his classic gourmet sauces, and then package them in easy to microwave individual portions.


The sauce is made with a rich poultry stock based, with fresh cream and wines blended in, and a mix of black trumpets, porcinis and chanterelles, seasoned with shallots, and just the right amount of sugar and honey to make it decadent.


Heat the sauce in the microwave or on stove – each pouch serves 2. Keeps in the pantry with no refrigeration, so feel free to stock up on these and whip them out when you need to add gourmet flavor to a dish.

Unbelievably good, and easy to prepare and serve! I tried this product at home and it was so delicious that instead of putting it all on my steak, I ate it with a spoon by itself! I then used it on steaks for a catering job, and had two people begging for the recipe!

This is a wonderfully adaptable sauce whose uses are limited only by the imagination. Authentic French product, and it contains three different types of mushrooms-- black trumpet, porcini and chanterelles. I would use this quite often in cooking were it not for the fact that it's a bit pricey for that.
