Bearnaise Sauce

Need that extra ingredient to take a dish from bland to fabulous? Christian Potier’s incredible French Bearnaise sauce makes it easy to elevate even the simplest of meals – no cooking required!

It couldn’t be easier – just heat up this rich sauce in the microwave for 10 seconds and drizzle over steak, grilled meat, fish or vegetables. Bearnaise is a classic French sauce, one of the mother sauces (the great, essential sauces of French cuisine). It’s made with rich butter, wine vinegar, shallots and tarragon, and has flavor that is creamy yet fresh, similar to mayonnaise but richer and more piquant. This makes it a great partner for steak and prime rib, and even burgers, cutting that meaty flavor.

Christian Potier’s Bearnaise tastes just as fresh as if it was made in a 5 star restaurant (or your own kitchen!), but there’s no whisking required. It’s made with stock made from scratch in Provence, and has a very rich, natural flavor that is just extraordinary to find from a packaged sauce.

Each box contains 2 pouches, with 2 servings per pouch. Microwave for 10 seconds and serve. Alternatively, heat on stovetop in simmering water for 5 minutes.

Christian Potier is a celebrated French chef that was trained by the head chef of the last Russian Czar – Czar Nicolas II. With this pedigree he continued his training, which culminated when the participated in the making of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation cake in 1953. It was in the 80s that Chef Potier had the idea to create a line of his classic gourmet sauces, and then package them in easy to microwave individual portions.

Ingredients: Water, unsalted butter, cream, white wine and red wine vinegar, shallot, egg yolk, tarragon, salt, modified corn starch, xanthan gum, natural rosemary extract, tarragon essential oil, ground white pepper.
Availability: Usually ships within 1 business days. Product is non-perishable and can ship via Ground service.

These are not the jars, as the photo would suggest, instead it is two packets in a box. Doesn't matter as it's the same volume as the jar, and this is a phenomenal bearnaise sauce for when you can't be bothered to make your own, which let's face it - is most of the time for me. We love it. Highly recommended.

I enjoy a Bearnaise sauce and this one is tasty and so easy. I will definitely order it again. My husband and I prefer slightly different sauces so we can both have steak and choose a different sauce quite happily.

Love Bernaise sauce, but too much trouble to make for one or two servings. Found this to be an excellent substitution for made from scratch. Do know the sauce comes in a smallish box (not the jar pictured) with two pouches of sauce. For a typical 2 x 6 ounce steaks, we found one of the two pouches was enough. Shelf life appears to be 12-18 months in the pantry.
