Tobiko Orange Caviar

This tiny and colorful little caviar comes from flying fish roe and you'll typically find it festively topping your sushi makis and nigiris. The actual roe color is bright orange, and the flavor is mild with a crunchy texture. Use it to roll up some authentic sushi at home, or to garnish appetizers and hors d'ouevres.
Ingredients: Flying fish roe (wild caught), mirin, bonito extract (dried bonito powder, glucose, lactose, disodium succinate, disodium inosinate, dried kelp powder), soy sauce (water, soybeans, wheat, salt) sugar, salt, Japanese rice vinegar, sodium sorbate, FD & C Yellow #6.
Storage: Frozen
Availability: Usually ships within 1 business days. Product is perishable and must ship via Overnight service.

These weren't quite what I expected...I've had them as part of sushi dishes before but not on their own until now. Being inexperienced and on a budget, I thought perhaps they could work as a type of caviar...but the taste and smell are unappealing. They were still fresh, and popped when breaking the outer coating of the egg. They're fairly small. Probably best kept as topping on sushi, only.

Product Questions And Answers

Q: How long do the eggs stay fresh?
A: Best if kept frozen before use. An unopened jar or tin may be kept in the refrigerator for 10 days to 2 weeks. An opened jar or tin of caviar can be stored in the refrigerator, covered, for no longer than two or three days.

Q: What is the difference between SKU 1503704 and SKU 1512201
A: The Tobiko Orange Caviar will have larger eggs than the Tobico Capelin Caviar, a crunchier texture and a slightly more flavorful profile.
