Echire is made by Société de Laiterie Coopérative Échiré, a dairy cooperative founded in 1894 in Deux-Sevres, where the wonderful terroir and the know-how of the butter makers comes together to create this silky, creamy butter with a distinct flavor of the pristine spring water and fresh grasses of the area. The cooperative has methods that have remained for over a century, and which are controlled by an appellation that makes sure the quality is superb and consistent.
