Q:I'm a bit confused as to, "may contain milk." Does this mean that the ingredients are altered occasionally or that the chocolate is processed on the same equipment as milk chocolate? Thank you.
A:Correct. The manufacturer may use the same equipment to make other products which do contain milk.
Q:Can these be used as chocolate chips in cookies or only for melting?
A:These Chocolate Baking Callets are suitable for all baking applications, including chocolate chips cookies.
Q:Do these need to be tempered before using them, or can I just melt them and use them. I want a hard coating to cover my candies.
A:These callets are tempered and ready to use, including for coating with a snap and gloss. However, re-tempering will be required if re-melting exceeds 115 - 120 degrees.
Q:Is there any lactose in dark chocolate?
A:Yes. The ingredients listed on the package state that the semisweet dark chocolate callets may contain milk.
