Smoking Goose’s sliced Salame Piccante is part of the producer’s Old School Salumi series, bringing together traditional curing methods and bold, layered spice. Made with pork, red wine, paprika, anise seed, garlic, and cayenne pepper, this slow-cured salame delivers smoky warmth, savory depth, and a gentle heat that lingers pleasantly on the palate. The red wine adds richness and subtle fruitiness, while the anise provides an aromatic lift that balances the spice beautifully.
Pre-sliced for easy serving, it’s ideal for charcuterie boards, antipasti spreads, sandwiches, and pizzas. Pair it with creamy blue cheese-stuffed olives and anchovies for an assertive aperitivo spread, or layer it onto spicy pizzas alongside Spanish chorizo and bacon. It also makes an especially flavorful Bloody Mary garnish when paired with spicy olives and pickled vegetables.
