While we would never call hummus bland, it’s true that it is a simple dish where the texture is the shining star, which makes it a great vehicle for stronger flavors, like garlic, red peppers or, like in this case, Kalamata olives from Greece.

These ripe purple olives from the Peloponnese peninsula of Southern Greece not only have a great flavor, they’re also rich in nutrients and the healthy fats found in olive oil, which makes this all-natural spread the perfect snack or healthy appetizer. Serve with raw veggies for a vegan platter, as part of a mezze, or with pita and mixed greens for a super delicious and healthy lunch.
You can just open the container and dig right in, but we recommend letting it get to room temperature – you’ll be surprised at extra richness of the flavors.
