Dulce de Leche Caramel Ice Cream Recipe

  • 1 ½ cup dulce de leche
  • 1 ¼ cups milk, warm
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 ¼ cups whipped cream
  • 4 oz. for garnishing
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  1. Put the dulce the leche in a bowl, add the milk and mix with a wooden spoon until the dulce de leche is dissolved. Add the vanilla extract and slowly mix with the whipped cream.
  2. Our mix into ice cream maker and follow the machine’s instructions.
  3. Keep it in the freezer until ready to serve.
  4. For the Caramel Sauce: Boil the sugar and water in a medium saucepan or pot. Do not stir the mixture, only move the pot, swirling around a little to mix. When the sugar turns into golden color remove from heat.
  5. Add cream and butter and stir constantly with a wooden spoon until everything is mixed and there are no bubbles. Add sea salt and reserve until warm. Serve on top of ice cream.
