Chocolate, Almond and Fig Cake
The classic Spanish Pan de Higo gets a boost of deliciousness with a smattering of bittersweet Belgian chocolate chips! Sweet Spanish figs are sun-dried, and then pressed with chopped almonds and chocolate chips, for extra lusciousness, and a secret mix of spices for that authentic Mediterranean flavor.
Spaniards serve up pan de higo during the fall, when trees are ripe with sweet figs. Sun-drying concentrates the sweet, rich flavor of the figs, which is offset by the savory, crunchy almonds and the bittersweet chocolate. Serve this as a healthy, all-natural snack (great for energy!), or as an after-dinner treat with coffee and tea.
Ingredients: Dry figs (77%), Belgian chocolate grains (15%): (cocoa paste (51%), sugar, emulsifier (E322 soya lecithin) and flavor (natural vanilla)), almonds (8%) and mix of natural spices.
