100% Butter French Curved Croissants - 1.5 oz, Unbaked

You don’t need to get up at the break of dawn and craft pastry for hours in order to make croissants that impress. These 100% butter French curved croissants come pre-made and frozen, which means you can save them in the freezer for your next breakfast or tea time. They’re also super-easy to prepare. Simply place them while frozen on a baking sheet, egg wash them, and bake them in a 400 degree F oven for 15-20 minutes, until they’re golden, crisp and flaky on the outside with a soft and slightly chewy interior – the ideal butter croissant! Add butter, jam or chocolate spread while they’re still warm, and you and your guests will be reveling in every warm crunch as the crumbs fall to your lap.

These croissants make for a great breakfast or brunch dish, and go well with sweet recipes. For example, you can cut them in half lengthwise, drizzle them with honey, and sprinkle on some sultanas before baking for five minutes. Then dust them with icing sugar before serving for a tasty glazed croissant breakfast.

Of course, there are plenty of savory options as well. For example, ham, turkey, bacon and egg are all potential fillings for a great croissant sandwich.

Our French curved croissants have a deliciously buttery flavor, and are filled with layer upon layer of fresh dough made from unbleached flour, coated in butter before being rolled and folded dozens of times. This gives them the perfect bite: a little crunchy on the outside with lightness within, like sinking your teeth into the warm air of a countryside patisserie. Bon appétit!

Croissant are excellent. Just pop them in the oven and bake them.

Like all the other bakery items I've ordered, these are wonderful. They bake up quickly and easily and mine did not stick to the pan. They're best warm out of the oven but they're also good later on with jelly or made into a sandwich. My favorite way to enjoy them is warm (either fresh or rewarmed), split and then butter and jam. Not exactly calorie or carbohydrate free but then you know that when you order. Enjoy!

Questions and Answers

Q:My husband ordered a package of French Gourmet croissants but no baking instructions were included in the box. Are the instructions available somewhere? Thank you.
A:

These are the instructions for handling and baking the croissants:

Place the frozen pastries on a lined baking pan. Do not proof pastries before baking, but bake them directly from freezer to oven.

Bake the croissants in a preheated oven. If your oven is equipped with steam injection, inject 15 seconds of steam at the beginning of the baking cycle.

Bake pastries at 400°F (200°C) for about 15 minutes for the mini and small pastries, 17 minutes for the medium and 19 minutes for the large or until a rich and deep golden color is attained.

Remove pastries from oven. Allow to cool down for 15 minutes. Do not glaze the croissants.
