For their Greek Taramas Dip, Ifantis uses salted and cured roe from cod to prepare this authentic Greek Taramas dip. Following the traditional Greek recipe, the roe is then mixed with olive oil, lemon juice, seasoning and either bread or potatoes as a binding agent. Our wonderful dip uses potatoes, making the consistency a little less gritty compared to when bread is used. This authentic Taramas dip is briny, yet balanced in flavor, incredibly creamy, despite not having any dairy and being gluten-free!
Packed full of the fresh flavors of Greece, this pink, airy dip is ideal as an appetizer served on little toasts or crackers accompanied by a light white wine like Pinot Grigio. We recommend garnishing it with cucumber wedges, tomatoes, dill, or various pickled veggies and serve it mezze style to enjoy with friends – ideally outside on a sunny day paired with some ouzo!
Ifantis was established in 1979. They continue to develop new recipes today with the aim of delivering the true flavors of the Mediterranean. Their mission is to supple great Greek foods like this Taramas Dip, tailored to the modern palate.
