French gastronomy has many great accomplishments to its name, but few rival foie gras for sheer deliciousness. Made from the fattened liver of duck or goose, it has a velvet soft texture and meaty taste that makes it perfect as a spread. This block of duck foie gras consists of white foie gras cream with pieces of whole foie gras mixed in. It’s jar-sealed so it won’t lose any of those delicious flavors by the time it reaches your doorstep.
This duck foie gras is ready to eat, but you may wish to place the cool jar in hot water for one minute, loosening it up before serving. Cut it into pieces and spread it onto toast points made of French country bread, or onto pastries or canapes. Foie Gras has become so popular in the US these last few decades, some people are even slathering it on their hamburgers in place of bacon! As for drinks, its mild, meaty flavor goes well with a sweet white wine.
If you have the strength not to keep it for yourself, why not share it with some friends for some extra brownie points?
