About Spanish Marcona Almonds - Fried and Salted
Spain is the only producer of this unique almond; round and plump, sweet and with very low bitterness, the Marcona almond is used predominantly in pastries and baked goods. They are quite famous around the world and very different than almonds here in America - both in flavor and shape. Grown in the Mediterranean coast of Spain - from Malaga to Tarragona, the Marcona is easily recognizable by it's unique light brown, almost holey shell.
