All production is in family-owned, organically certified facilities, and they are long-term practitioners of sustainable agriculture. This particular Organic Reserve Wild Rice uses certified organic seed sprouts in ponds created by spring snow melt, high in the Cascade Mountains. Only organic fertilizer is used - and not much is needed due to the fertile red volcanic soils. Goose Valley doesn't use any pesticides or herbicides on their certified organic wild rice – just the gentlest old fashioned farming techniques.
