Whole chestnuts preserved in sweet syrup. The Ardeche region is the leading producer of Chestnuts in France and home to the famed Maison Sabaton at Labégude, acclaimed for their production of Marrons. Since December is the prime time for the Marron harvest, it is no surprise they have become a holiday delicacy, both in America and Europe.
